Introduction The KD-200 Inert Gas Extinguishing System of KIDDE DEUGRA combines environment-friendly extinguishing agent and specially developed devices for rapid release of extinguishing agent. Resulting fast fire suppression reduces losses. Response time FM-200 is released within 10 seconds, which is essential for time saving in fire development phase. FM-200 combined with automatic fire detection and notification system provides fastest possible response for fire. Efficiency FM-200 acts by molecular chilling of fire as well as indicates chemical extinguishing properties. In fire conditions radicals are released, suppressing chain reaction of burning process. FM-200 is combination of coal, fluorine and hydrogen (chemical formula CF3CHFCF3), colorless, odorless and non-conductive. Its fire extinguishing action is combination of chemical and physical treatment with no influence on oxygen contained in the room. The personnel in the room can see, breathe and safely leave the room. Although FM-200 is considered as safe for humans in fire extinguishing concentrations, there are some safety regulations to be followed when dealing with this agent. FM-200 is clean and leaves no impurities. After fire suppression no expensive cleaning is required and idle time is reduced. The FM-200 is not aggressive against most materials, such as steel, aluminum, brass and other metals, several plastics, rubber and electronic construction components.
